Abstract:

 Mr.Ludwig Winkel is employed by Siemens in Karlsruhe, Germany. He is responsible in Siemens for fieldbus communications and chairman and editor of several working groups in IEC, IEEE, and national committees.

Mr.Martin Zirlinski is employed by Emerson Process Management near Minneapolis, USA. He is their Director of Technology for HART and Fieldbus Communications. He is also a Director on the ISA's Standards and Practices Board, as well as a member of the Fieldbus Foundation's Executive Committee.

WirelessHart is more than HART over the air, but is not a revolution in the DCS systems dealing already with HART. As the ISM band is notonly reserved for WirelessHART, we have to define coexistence.
